I've had Dr. Hohenstein as my dentist for nearly 25 years. He's an excellent dentist.....and I drive from midtown Tucson for my regular visits, so that proves my point. Jackie, my regular hygienist, and all the staff are great too.

I recently had some major dental work that was very involved. The staff was very friendly and helpful and Dr. Schwartz did an amazing job with what needed to be done. I'm not fond of going to the dentist but I would recommend this facility above all others.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hohenstein for years. He is an excellent dentist who truly cares about his patients. He is good about talking you through any complex procedure to ensure to alleviate any anxiety and he is very personable. He gives you plenty of breaks during the procedure so you are not overwhelmed.My last crown was not only painless (didn't even feel the needle from the numbing meds) but I also never smelled that awful smoke smell from your tooth being drilled. I had no pain during the procedure nor the next day. Dr. Hohenstein personally followed up with me the next day to see how I was doing.I highly recommend this dentist as he checks all the boxes you would want as a patient (professional, compassionate, personable and well-experienced).

This is the best dental office I have received services from--they are the most friendly and professional group of any office I have ever been in. I am 79 years old, so I have been in a few.What is so different is that they are a team, singing off the same sheet of music, so to speak, like a choir. I have never heard a sour note. It is not that they probably don't have them but it is that patients don't have to hear them working out the harmony, like any choir must do. It is ten years now. I would not go anywhere else.
Dr. Xing takes pride in what he does. He does his best to make sure you are 100% satisfied. He did an excellent job on my crown. I wish I would of had my implant done here. His assistant was very nice and knew her job really well. Recommend to everyone.
Very pleasant staff from the time you walk through the door. The assistant was very accommodating getting my x-rays done. Dr. Xing was very informative on my options. Explaining everything and making me comfortable until I could get in to the oral surgeon. I would highly recommend this office and staff.

The dental hygienist for Schwartz is outstanding. Gentle and thorough. Really like her. Very friendly staff and always on time -- very little wait if any. Lastly, Schwartz himself is so easy to talk to and he listens well. I very much like my crew there. More: the new dentist and new hygienist are also excellent. Give them a try. They're good.
In mid-March I had a crown slip off a tooth and due to health issues of my longtime dentist, my appointments with him to replace the crown were cancelled 3 times. I am a cancer patient receiving daily radiation and chemotherapy treatments and therefore scheduling other appointments is very difficult. I called the office of Hohenstein and Schwartz and although they had not seen me before and their schedule was very full, they made an appointment to see me the very next day. I met with Dr. Schwartz. An X-ray was taken to be sure the tooth was healthy, he examined my teeth and he was able to replace the crown right away. Dr. Schwartz and everyone I came in contact with at their office was very helpful and extremely pleasant and I could not be more grateful and pleased with the treatment and help I received. I am planning to return to the office of Hohenstein and Schwartz for my future dental care.

This was my first visit to Hohenstein & Schwartz Dentistry, as I just recently moved to Tucson. People don't usually describe going to the dentist as a fantastic experience, but in the case, it truly was. The staff were all very pleasant and professional and made me very comfortable to be there. Hygienist Julie was great, very friendly and very good at her job. And Dr. Greg Schwartz was super as well. Very friendly and low-key, he talked to me like an old friend. I highly recommend this Dentist office to anyone looking for dental service.
Dr Schwartz is outstanding!! The best dentist I’ve ever had. In addition, he always has time to explain any procedure that isn’t clear and in earnest, want that you are happy and completely satisfied and will do what it takes to make it so. Rare to find such an excellent dentist these days.

I was on vacation in Tucson when I started to have dental issues. I didn't have great hopes of being seen by a dentist office for an emergency as a new patient. I am SO GRATEFUL that this dentist office was able to squeeze me in for an emergency same day appointment. Dr. Schwartz and his staff were understanding and compassionate. Dr. Schwartz spent as much time with me as I needed and explained everything clearly. His office was able to get me another same day referral for additional care. My experience with this office was excellent.

Additionally, while waiting in the Waiting Room for our appointments we were very impressed that all children arriving for their appointments were happy, not concerned at all. That illustrates to us the quality of care that Dr Hohenstein and Dr Schwartz provide to their patients, including young children. My husband and I are new patients at this exemplary dental office! The entire staff was courteous, friendly and professional. We especially enjoyed our visits with Dr. Schwartz and his dental assistants and hygienists. We received excellent care and felt comfortable from the minute we walked through the front doors. Our visits were at the end of October, which made them that much more fun! The office was full of spooktacular Halloween decorations, including a staff dressed in Disney character costumes! We will look forward to our appointments in six months.
Very happy with my dental care here, particularly with Dr. Schwartz who helped guide me toward appropriate care with consideration to my particular history and fears, confronting in a very straightforward manner which I greatly appreciate, as I need details of all the facts that I can gather. Just a day later, he took time on a Saturday to take my call and get antibiotic prescription to pharmacy for urgent need, as well as personally get on the phone with me a the following Monday to talk me off a ledge from making not the best decision for care plan going forward, again providing clarification where I needed. I had lost trust due to bad dental experiences, and am not easily impressed as a healthcare professional of over 35 years, but I now am comfortable and happy, not only having gained back trust, I am actually impressed, which speaks volumes in my book, as that is a pretty high bar to meet for me.
My Office visit was for my 6 month checkup and cleaning. Excellent hygienist and staff. My wife and I have been patients here since 2016. They are up on the latest treatment procedures and provide great advice/ counseling. We highly recommend this practice!Alan S.
After my dentist of 23 years retired, my sister-in-law highly recommended Hohenstein & Schwartz. I'm so glad she did! Very efficient and friendly front desk staff made it easy to schedule my appointment and complete paperwork. Julie, my hygienist, was gentle, thorough, and personable. The exam rooms, office space, and equipment seemed new and immaculate. Dr. Hohenstein took time to chat as well as conduct a comprehensive exam. Very professional. This is now our go-to dental practice for the whole family!

I had a crown fall out that had been placed by a different dental office. I called Hohenstein & Schwartz and they got me in for a repair very quickly. I am very happy with this office. Their work is always at a VERY high level and the entire operation is run most professionally. I appreciate that I don't feel any push to do stuff that isn't really necessary and am always relieved to have access to such fine dental care.
We were referred to Hohenstein & Schwartz by my husband's doctor, and we've been really happy with them so far. Staff are friendly, competent and very welcoming. The dentists gave each of us an honest assessment, and they didn't try to "sell us" on procedures we didn't need. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.
Great dental office! I have been going for years! The gals at the front desk are so friendly!! Love love love all the hygienists I have had! Yesterday I had Julie and she was amazing (I have a bit of dental anxiety) and she took care to work in my mouth very gently!! Dr. Hohenstein is a fantastic dentist! Very gentle and explains everything that he is doing!! The entire office staff are so welcoming and kind!! Even though I really don’t like going to the dentist- Dr. Hohenstein’s practice is the best!!
Wonderful dental office. Got me in immediately for a restorative crown. It’s perfect. Sadly need to find a different dentist due to the 5-7 month wait for a basic cleaning. I really like them so it’s disappointing. But high quality work!
I hate leaving negative reviews, but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade. I visited this office several months ago at the recommendation of a neighbor. I was basically looking for an assessment/second opinion on a cracked molar. I provided my insurance information when I called to setup the appointment and was told that it was accepted. I get there on the day of my appointment, check-in, sign the papers, give them a copy of my insurance card, etc. I get called back quickly and the dentist/dental assistant do their thing. If it helps, they were nice enough and seemed competent. When I get back to the front desk afterwards, I am informed that my insurance is NOT accepted by this dental office. Keep in mind that I work for the State of Arizona, so it's not like I have some obscure dental insurance. I would have never come for the appointment had I known that my insurance was not accepted and that I would have to pay the entire bill out of pocket. It was a waste of my time and money. I've never managed a dental or medical office before, but can imagine that it's probably a good business practice to run the insurance information before actually taking a patient back for services, thus avoiding these types of issues. Or, if you are going to take patients back before ensuring that their insurance is accepted, taking responsibility and offering to waive or discount the bill.
